Mother (2025)
Created in 2025, this short comic depicts a dream. A mother caring for her child gradually transforms into a fly, blending maternal instinct with anxiety. I studied close-up imagery of flies and a child’s skull, uncovering unsettling layers of baby and adult teeth. Distorted scales, circular compositions, and shifting perspectives mimic a fly’s vision, reflecting how dreams fluidly shift from warm to disturbing. I explore mark-making and a shifting style in this piece as the dream capitulates into horror. The piece uses metaphor to explore psychological tension through visual narrative.
Happy Birthday! (2025)
Just two pages, this short comic starts off in the point of view of a deranged wife, where everything is brightly colored and beautiful, as she cooks a breakfast for her husband. The second page is what is really there, the husband’s corpse and a spoiled breakfast.
